Google Memo to Employees Makes Three Days Mandatory Work from Office All Details

Google has informed its employees through email that they will now have to work from office at least three days a week. In this email sent by the Chief People Officer of Alphabet-owned company Google, it is written that working together in the same room has a positive effect. After Kovid, most of the companies had asked their employees to work from office, but some companies are still giving their employees the benefit of either full time work from home (WFH) or some companies are asking to work from home and some days in the week under hybrid system.

This email from Google’s Chief People Officer Fiona Ciccioni, seen by CNBC, shows that the company told its employees that their attendance will also be taken into account in the work performance evaluation. His note says the company will begin to include three days off each week as part of its review of employees’ performance, and that teams will begin sending reminders to employees who are “frequently absent from the office.”

Cicconi has also asked those employees, who are already working from home with permission, to reconsider. “For those of you who are remote and who live near a Google office, we hope you will consider switching to a hybrid work schedule,” he added.

In a statement to CNBC, Google spokesman Ryan Lamont said, (translated) “Our hybrid approach is designed to combine the benefits of working from home during the week with the convenience of face-to-face work. Now that we’ve had over a year of doing things this way, we’re formally incorporating this approach into all of our workplace policies.”

Let us tell you that in 2021, after facing criticism for returning to the office, Google relaxed its plans to work remotely and said that it expected 20% of its employees to telecommute.
