Kia Launches New Seltos SUV, Price Starts From Rs 10.89 Lakh

South Korean automobile company Kia launched the updated Seltos in India on Friday. Its starting price is Rs 10.89 lakh. Its top variant has been priced at Rs 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The company started its business with Seltos in the country about four years back. It also sells models like Sonet and Carens.

Seltos is the best selling model for the company. The new Seltos has been made available in three variants – Tech Line, GT Line and X Line. Along with some changes in its design, improvements have also been made in the cabin. Apart from this, some new features have also been added to it. ADAS Level 2 technology is available in its top variant. Seltos has received a good response from the customers in the mid-size SUV segment. It competes with Hyundai’s Creta.

Bookings for the new Seltos began on 14 July. Apart from the company’s dealerships, its booking can also be done on Kia’s website. It has received excellent response from the customers. The company got 13,424 bookings for it in just one day. Seltos accounts for more than half of the company’s total sales. It has sold more than five lakh units in the country. The company had also announced the ‘K-Code’ program for early delivery of the new Seltos. Tae Jin Park, Managing Director, Kia Unit, said, “We are delighted to open pre-bookings for the company’s most successful brand – the Seltos. We are confident that it, like the current Seltos, will further the company’s journey of growth.” In the upgraded version of this SUV, the company has given panoramic sunroof, redesigned grille and headlamps and already powerful 1.5 liter turbo petrol engine with 157 bhp. It will also be available in the new Pewter Olive colour.

Kia has produced one million cars in India in just four years. The company has also expanded its sales and service network. Kia aims to increase its market share to 10 percent by entering new segments. The company has a factory in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. The vehicle that completed the company’s 1 million unit production milestone is the facelifted Seltos.
