Harley-Davidson X440 Bookings Open in India, Rs 2.29 Lakh Starting Price

The booking of Harley-Davidson’s X440, which is popular for powerful motorcycles around the world, has started in India from 4th July. Hero MotoCorp, Harley-Davidson’s partner in the country, told that Rs 5,000 will have to be paid for its booking. Bookings can be made across all Harley-Davidson dealerships, select Hero MotoCorp outlets as well as online.

The Harley-Davidson X440 price ranges between Rs 2.29 Lakh to Rs 2.69 Lakh. It has been made available in three variants – Denim, Vivid and S. Its design has been specially made according to the conditions of the country. In this, many elements of styling have been taken from the previous models of the company. It has round headlamps, LED lighting and LCD instrument controls. It is powered by the recently developed 398 cc single cylinder and air cooled motor, which generates 27 bhp power and 38 Nm peak torque. Along with this, there are six speed gearbox, inverted front forks and twin shock absorbers at the rear.

Braking has been improved in this power motorcycle. This is the lowest priced motorcycle from Harley-Davidson. It was launched at the Hero Center for Innovation and Technology (CIT) in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The motorcycle will be manufactured at Hero MotoCorp’s Neemrana factory in Rajasthan. This is the first motorcycle developed in partnership between the two companies. Under this partnership, Hero MotoCorp will manufacture and market Harley Davidson motorcycles in the country.

Hero MotoCorp plans to increase its presence in the powerful motorcycles segment. The company wants to strengthen its position in the category above 160 cc. It is also focusing on launching new products every quarter. Recently, the company’s CEO, Niranjan Gupta had told that the company will launch at least one new product every quarter. Last month, the company launched Hero Xtreme 4V, with some changes in its design, new features have also been added. It has a new LED headlamp and a powerful fuel tank like powerful motorcycles. Hero MotoCorp will compete with Baja-Triumph in this segment.
